My Extensions.
These are my three (technically five) sets of extensions. I've made a youtube video on them, but decided to blog about them as well.
My first set was the brown hair. I bought it before when I thought I wasn't going to change my hair anymore. They are a little lighter than when I bought them because shortly after buying them I became infatuated with being a blonde. So I attempted to bleach them, which failed miserably. They say extensions are easier to darken than they are to lighten,...they don't lie. They turned into an ugly brassy color and eventually my hair ended up lighter. When I attempted to tone them they just turned completely grey while my hair turned a pretty blonde color. Which now brings me to the blue set. When I bought the blue set, they were a shade darker than the blonde ones you see here. They matched my blonde perfectly, I just needed to tone my hair. So I was blonde for about a month and a half I think, but I just couldn't stop myself once I went blonde. I HAD to do a more creative color. So again, I decided to bleach and dye. These ones did bleach, but only slightly lighter. Almost as light as the ones in the photo. Then I went a light turquoise blue using a diluted mixture of Ion Color Brilliance Brights in Sky Blue and my tips were full strength. After about 2 weeks I was already bored and decided to change my whole head to the full strength dark blue of the Sky Blue dye. I changed the tips to the light purple they are there. So this is where I am at right now.
I ordered another set of platinum blonde, which you see here, because I am going to go lavender! I don't want to attempt to bleach out my poor beaten up blue extensions so I got this set. I'm afraid I'm going to have a lot of difficulty getting my own hair to cooperate and get the blue out! We'll have to wait and see...
Now, the reason I said technically five sets is because my first set of extensions is a set of 10 pieces weight 160grams. My hair is pretty thick (at least it was:P) so when I bought the next sets, I wanted not more weight, but more pieces. I find it easier for me to blend the extensions if I have more pieces. So, I bought two sets of 7 pieces weight 70grams. Thats a total of 14 pieces weight 140 grams. Only 20 less than the 160. Yes, I put 14 wefts in my hair! It works out really well for me though.
I buy my extensions on eBay from a seller called minihouse8888. They are a merchant from China, so it does take a while to arrive, but they have always arrived exactly when they say they will. This last set said between Sept. 27 and Oct. 2, I got them on Oct 1. Every single time I have bought them I have had a total of 54 dollars. That is extremely CHEAP! Two sets of extensions for only $54!! I hear so many people saying they buy really expensive extensions, but they only last about three months. They say they start to shed as soon as they are opened and become really damaged. I don't know if this is just me and how I care for my hair, but I don't have any of these problems. Especially if I don't dye them. My extensions are still in wonderful shape and I beat them up like a mad woman!! Just imagine if I left them natural!!! So!!! Now if you are looking for extensions I suggest you go check these out. I am not affiliated with this company, I'm not even sure it is a company, I just know that they are cheap and from eBay.
